We are looking for a Mid/Senior Software Engineer to join our Player & Devices team and help us build, evolve, and maintain the software that powers digital signage screens across different devices and platforms.

This is not a traditional Frontend or Backend position.

  • You will work primarily on the logic behind content playback and device interaction: how media is loaded, scheduled, played, synchronized, interrupted, cached, recovered, and rendered across different environments.
  • Our Player runs in real-world Digital Signage environments, where reliability, performance, memory management, offline behavior, device limitations, and integration with platform-specific APIs are critical.
  • You will work with JavaScript and TypeScript as core technologies, while interacting with device APIs, third-party SDKs, operating systems, SoC platforms, media playback capabilities, and different Digital Signage ecosystems.
  • This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working close to the runtime, devices, media, integrations, and system behavior.

Seção:

  • On-site presence required 3 days per week (mandatory).
  • If you are currently based outside Florianópolis and are open to relocating, we are willing to support the move, including financial assistance.
  • To make the transition easier, the first 3 months of the position can be fully remote, giving you time to organize your relocation and settle in Florianópolis. After this initial period, the role follows our hybrid work model, with 3 days per week working from our office.

Seção:

  • Build and improve the content playback and rendering logic that runs on physical devices.
  • Work with media playback, including video, images, audio, streaming, scheduling, playlists, and content transitions.
  • Develop software that needs to operate reliably in long-running, resource-constrained environments.
  • Integrate the Player with different SoC (System on Chip) platforms, devices, operating systems, and proprietary APIs.
  • Integrate and consume third-party SDKs and APIs, adapting our Player to different platform capabilities and requirements.
  • Work with device-level APIs, hardware capabilities, and platform-specific integrations.
  • Investigate and solve issues involving performance, memory usage, CPU consumption, stability, concurrency, and playback behavior.
  • Design solutions for offline-first and unreliable network environments, ensuring content can continue playing when connectivity is limited or unavailable.
  • Work with asynchronous and event-driven systems, handling multiple operations concurrently without compromising playback reliability.
  • Develop automated tests and contribute to improving the reliability of the Player.
  • Test and troubleshoot features on real devices.
  • Investigate platform-specific behavior and collaborate with other engineers to find solutions across different hardware and operating systems.
  • Contribute to technical decisions, code reviews, architecture discussions, and the continuous improvement of our Player & Devices ecosystem.

Seção:

  • Proficiency in English, with written and spoken communication skills. (mandatory)
  • Strong experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of C, C++.
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, Promises, async/await, Event Loop, concurrency, and JavaScript runtime behavior.
  • Experience integrating and consuming third-party APIs and SDKs, particularly in environments with platform-specific limitations.
  • Experience working with device-level or proprietary APIs.
  • Good understanding of software testing and automated tests.

Seção:

  • Experience developing software for devices, embedded environments, Smart TVs, kiosks, or similar platforms, not only traditional web applications.
  • Experience with webOS, Tizen/SSSP, Chrome OS/PWA, or BrightSign.
  • Experience with media playback, streaming, offline-first applications, or long-running applications.
  • Knowledge of Python, or Go
  • Experience with Jest or other automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with multiple SoC platforms or hardware architectures.
  • Spanish as a third language.

Seção:

  • Meal or food allowance of R$ 1.300 per month;
  • Health insurance (Unimed) with 20% co-payment ;
  • Dental insurance (Uniodonto) with no co-payment;
  • Gym allowance with reimbursement of up to R$ 250 per month;
  • Life insurance;
  • Profit-sharing program (PLR), based on company results;
